Stainless agitator repair for a wastewater plant

A municipal wastewater treatment facility needed a large stainless steel agitator welded and machined — work that demands real stainless welding procedure control.

THE PROBLEM

What the customer brought us

A municipal wastewater treatment facility came to us with a large stainless steel agitator that needed weld repair and machining. Agitator work punishes shortcuts: stainless in continuous immersion service demands correct filler selection, heat-input control to preserve corrosion resistance, and distortion management on a large rotating component that has to run true.

WHAT WE DID

How we built it

Our degreed welding engineer developed the repair approach — procedure, filler, and sequencing suited to the stainless alloy and service environment — and the weldment was machined to restore the running geometry. Welding and machining under one roof meant no handoffs between shops and one point of accountability for the finished component.

THE RESULT

What the customer got

The agitator went back into service. For treatment plants and other municipal customers, this is the value of a shop with a welding engineer on staff: repairs that hold up in service, documented and done right the first time.
