Powder coating has been part of the shop since we opened, but the oven set the limit on what we could finish. This month we put in a cure oven about 4 feet square and 80 inches deep, which covers most of what comes off our brake and out of our weld booth: railing sections, signs, brackets, frames, and duct up to about 80 inches long.
The difference is turnaround. When a fabricated part needs a finish, it used to go on a truck to a coater and come back a week or two later. Now it goes from the weld table to the booth to the oven without leaving the building, and we control the prep, the coating, and the cure.
If you have a part that needs to survive outdoors or in a wash down environment, tell us where it lives and we will recommend a powder for it.
Powder coating is available on parts we make and on parts you bring in, as long as they fit the oven and can be hung. Send us the part and the color and we will quote it.
